| | post austin bunionectomy...silly question about toe alignment
Hey All....here is a Silly Question:
During the surgery my big toe will be broken and the dr. will straighten it out and secure it with a screw. My other toes have shifted outward because the big toe was pushing them out for 43 years.
So after the surgery, will the other toes that have shifted outward, straighten out on their own? Or, do I ask the dr to break those as well, and have him re-align them to be straight again, so that all 5 toes are going in the same direction?
At my appointment, while waiting in the reception area, I saw a patient leave the office who obviously had the surgery. It appeared that there was a huge gap between the big toe (now pointing straight) and the second toe. And...The second toe and others were still shifted outwards.
Just curious if one day, all the toes will be close again and pointing straight forward.
