Question Kellers Bunion Surgery

I had a Kellers bunion removal two months ago because of arthritis. I am still finding bending my foot painful and am limping around. I would like to hear from anyone that's had this surgery so they could let me know how long it was before they could walk normally again. Iwould appreciate some advice.

Re: Kellers Bunion Surgery

Were you given any exercises to do? That is most important to keep the joint from freezing up.

No. Nothing. Just told not go on any long hikes! Could'nt if I wanted to. Have been trying to gently bend my toe backwards and forwards but when I put my weight on it - it hurts.

Re: Kellers Bunion Surgery

Podiatrist, I would imagine? I hesitate to give any as I am not a doctor but you might call and ask if you can do either of these. The usual one is to pull it out gently but firmly and then move up and down. You may find it easier to do if you have warmed the muscles up by soaking the toe in very warm, almost hot water or while taking a shower or bath. Also, try picking up a washcloth with the toe is the other one.

Good luck.
