I am new here.. I am really scared. I have swelling on the bottom of my foot.. where the bottom of foot meets the toes? it feels swollen and i have numbess in a couple of my toes. I think maybe the nerves are involved which would cause the numbness? does anyone know what this can be. I do have terrible feet. I think i ruined my feet from wearing high heels all my life.. I am 58.... when i try to curl my toes i can feel the swelling (fatty part of foot. also sometime i can really bad pain in the pinkie toe. I can move my toes but there is definitely numbness in the last two toes..
I hope it is not cancer.. I dont feel a hard lump.. just swelling in the sole??
I have never been to a foot doctor. I guess it is time to go.
Your best bet is to see a Podietrist. I know the swelling is uncomfortable but in the meantime you may consider wearing flats, using gel inserts and when the swelling comes on you can soak your feetin warm Epsom Salts and then elevate them on pillows above your heart to reduce swelling but most importantly find a Podietrist and check him out.
