| | Ankle troubles, eight months post surgical
So I've been struggling with severe pain, swelling, and grinding/popping in my left ankle for many years due to multiple sprains and strains. a little less than a year ago I went to see a foot doctor who had me try bracings, exercises, and injections and to no avail. I still was having severe pain and troubles walking. So finally we decided to do surgery about eight months ago to remove the massive amounts of scar tissue in my ankle and also to do surgery on my calf muscle to help return my ability to walk normally.
Things seemed to be going well, I recovered ahead of schedule and noticed immediate improvements in my pain levels and range of motion. Everything seemed great. I was walking more normally, which took a tremendous amount of strain off of my hips that had paid the price for my irregular gait due to the ankle problems. But recently, with no injury, my ankle is once again excrutiatingly painful, swollen, and popping and grinding again. I'm once again forced to walk with an odd gait to try to avoid causing more pain in my ankle.
I do not currently have health insurance and am needing some advice. What can I do at this point? I was hoping the surgery would have helped me for a lot longer than this. I am heartbroken to once again be dealing with this severe ankle pain and troubles walking. I don't know what to do.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
