Re: Peroneal Tendon Surgery...What to expect
My first surgery involved the peroneal tendon split tear and also subluxation. I had some other things fixed as well, but the pain wasn't so bad after the surgery. The worst of it was the "trying to walk again" period around 12-16 weeks. Once the 4 mos part hit, I was feeling better. My dr. didn't allow me to run until 20 weeks post-op. Also, a lot of calf raises were out of the question. It takes awhile and you don't want it to tear again. Good news is that it makes a big difference when you get that tendon fixed. You will feel much better, it will just be several months down the road.
