Lubrication Injections for Ankle
[FONT="Comic Sans MS"][COLOR="Purple"][B]I'm looking for anyone who has/had experience or even thoughts on the use of lubrication injections for the ankle to share their experiences or research results so I can be better informed for my own choice.
I had a "huge" OCD lesion of the medial talar dome. Had microfracture and debridement surgery (arthroscopic) 4/29/10. Started PT approximately 5/20/10 and am still there. There continues to be tendinitis - but OS also feels ankle is now showing signs similar to arthritis. He is now petitioning the insurance company for the use of lubricating injections to try and help ease the pain.
He has explained to me that research has been done for the use of the injection in the knee - and there is no research for the ankle - but it is not considered an "off-label usage" - and those patients who have had it done have had relief.
Anyone here had it? Considered it? Please share.
