Re: Hammertoes revision/re-do sx. Any suggestions
I underwent hammer toes sx repair on 8 toes 10 yrs ago. I was never satisfied with the outcome (scarring, discoloration, too much bone obviously taken out of my 2nd-to-last toe on each foot). Needless to say, I do not wear my toes out in public and I didn't before my surgery. I thought I asked all the right questions and picked a good surgeon. I never seeked further advice b/c I'm not in pain, and i didn't want any1 to botch my feet up anymore than they already are. But now Im curious as to what can be done minimally invasive and cosmetically appealing wise. I'm tired of being ashamed of my feet. I'd like to walk barefoot at the beach, and wear other than a peep-toe shoe in public. Has anyone had a revision from a bad experience as such? Does anyone have any recommendations on whom I such seek for better results? I live in the Dallas area. Thanks
If you are not in pain, DON"T do any surgery. Vanity is not worth it. Foot surgery isn't like cosmetic surgery; you don't walk on you face. I think any reputable doctor would tell you don't do surgery if you are not in pain.
