I am having my first of two surgeries on Sept. 29th and I'm scared to death. I am having a reconstruction of the tendons in my heal and ankle to correct posterior tibial tendon dysfunction. I had surgery for plantar fasciitis back in Feb. and March of this year. I tried to explain that I was still in severe pain 6 months after the surgery. I was sent to months of physical therapy and had no relief. Was told by the surgeon that the surgery went well and that I needed a good pair of orthotics. Got my second pair of orthotics (very costly with no coverage from insurance) Was dismissed by surgeon with a " I don't know what more you want from me attitude." I went to get another opinion from a local orthopedic surgeon ( which by the way the first was from Yale- thought I was getting the Best) The new surgeon examined my feet and sent me for an MRI. and made my current diagnosis. After reading different articles on the subject, it all makes sense. I am beginning to wonder if I even needed the other surgery. So needless to say I am very scared about having more surgery.
Does anyone have any thoughts or advice for me?
