Calling All Foot/Ankle People: Let your feet do the walking...

I'm walking in the 2011 Walk to End Alzheimer's on Sat., Oct. 1st, Cincinnati, Ohio. This 'mind blowing' disease took my grandmother and many relatives over the years. I'm asking everyone to find a charity walk event in your city/neighborhood and go for a walk, volunteer at the walk, make a donation, or support other walkers. For those still recovering/rehabbing from any surgery or injuries do this when you are ready physically, whether it's a few months from now or anytime.

I'm thankful that my ankle's on the road to recovery so I can take this walk to help fight Alzheimer's disease.

Thanks for all your support and Happy Healing to All!

Re: Calling All Foot/Ankle People: Let your feet do the walking...

Have fun and good luck 2ScrewedUp. I had the great pleasure of walking in the Weekend to End Women's Cancers in Vancouver in August. It was a two day, 60 km walk. I was the number five top fundraiser for the walk and got the worst blisters of my life in the process. We walked 35K the first day, and 25 the second. In spite of the blisters, I was extremely thankful to have been able to do this. I would not have been able to manage it two years ago before my big toe joint was fused. It was bone on bone arthritic damage. The blisters have healed, and really weren't as bad a pain as I've experienced in my feet. The blisters were also nothing compared to the damage that cancer can cause.

Walk in memory of those who cannot remember anymore. Having a walking goal like that is great on so many levels!
