Issues after Toe Joint Bone Spur Surgery
Back in June 2011 I under went surgery to correct bone spurs on the main joint my big toe. The surgery consisted of removing the bone spurs and shortening of the connected metatarsal. The metatarsal was then reconnected using an angled screw.
Immediately after the surgery the toe could be moved both 90 degrees up and down. This continued after I started movement exercises at two weeks following the surgery. However, after about another week I had a period of swelling for a couple of days and then my toe could not move downward at all. In addition, it was now raised about a quarter inch above normal. I have tried PT and a cortisone shot with no effects.
Has anyone else had this type of issue and what, if anything, was done?
