Question OATS surgery

I am preparing for my OATS surgery on June 20, 2012. This will be the 2nd surgery in 9 months. I'm not sure as to what expect afterwards and I'm hoping that someone could give me some insight into this. The Dr. has advised me that this is major surgery and I'm a bit nervous. Any advise would be appreciated! Thank You!

Re: OATS surgery

I haven't had this surgery, but plenty of people on here have. My first thought and suggestion (and what I would do in your situation) is to call the doctor and ask to talk to him about it and go armed with a list of questions (even if over the phone). This is too big of a surgery for you to only know it's "major". Also do you know how many of these your doctor has done? I really encourage you to not rely solely on the boards to explain what your doctor needs to and have all your questions answered. Good luck and let us know why you find out and definitely how you are doing once surgery is over when you are able. There's a huge support system on here that's fabulous! Also check out the sticky thread at the top on tips for coping while NWB.
