That's the only thing I've heard of unless you want to buy some stuff called Merderma, but I've never used that myself. I've used the vitamin E and have massaged the scar alot too to try to get it to settle down. Not sure if that's any help....
I'm okay. I twisted my ankle last night trying to get up - without the brace on, so it's been uncomfortable today, but it's finally feeling better. Have to go back to Dominos next Wednesday - I'm very nervous, but my manager is working with me, thankfully. How are you?
Remind me how far out your are from surgery? You will need to clear it with your doctor but a lot of people use Vit E, or shea butter or I forget the name of it..mederma maybe? I personally have never used any of them because my scar healed so well the first time and it's behind my ankle and curves with it somhard to see, but it healed very thin and white and so,far this 2nd incision which is the same as the first but extended about 1/2" is doing the same thing. If you are scarring or it's hard or knotty or keyloidy, then ask your doctor what he prefers you rub on it if anything. My PT rubbed mine with massage cream just to prevent scar tissue there.
Hi Hollywood. This wednesday will be 5 weeks ago that I had surgery. my doctor told me that vit e would work. Just though maybe you ladies had some other things you used. I'm glad to hear that your scar healed so well. Mine is looking good too. going to keep it out of the sun also...I know that makes it worse.
I took a few steps last night and was able to walk today with out the crutches! It's hard but such progress. I was so thankful to God for this because it means there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Joyful, I'm sorry to hear that you twisted your ankle again. no fun at all!! Hope it feels better today.
Yes, it's where they open up your ankle joint itself to inspect, correct and do various procedures. It's kind of like the open version of an arthroscopy. Synovrctomy is removing the inflammation out of the fluid called the synovial lining. I imagine you had some sort of synovitis/tenosynovitis. So basically he opened up your ankle, inspected it for other injuries and cleaned it up. Did the op report mention anything else? Hope that helps!!
