13 more days woot woot

That means I can walk on my foot . This day cannot come soon enough.
Then to physical therapy that is what I'm worried about. My foot is still so stiff. I'm trying to unstiff it but it pulls on my calf muscle what they lengthened. M in my boot and my foot is still not all the way down it in which I am also trying to get it down in it.

Erin! congrats on getting so close to walking! Getting your foot to drop in the boot is tough. It will slowly happen. It took mine a week and now - 3 weeks later - it doesn't always drop right when I wake up. Takes a wee bit of time.

Re: 13 more days woot woot

Patti I have been in it for almost a month and still not going down. I am also in my splint for bed time and when I go out I use the splint I'll use my boot more when I can walk on my foot.

Re: 13 more days woot woot

Ooh can't wait for that day! I've still got 3 more weeks NWB in the cast. It helps knowing I'm 3 weeks down - so halfway there, but still so far to go! Although I have to admit, the cast is so much smaller than the boot, I do dread how bullky that boot is! He told me about a week or so of PWB in the boot until I can get back to FWB...I hope it happens that soon for me.

Re: 13 more days woot woot

Oh wow! I bet the physical therapy will help with that and the walking. My one week included taking pwb steps... and I think that really helped. When I use the boot on the knee scooter, my achilles gets tight again (no surgery there!) and it takes a few steps to work it loose.

Re: 13 more days woot woot

It is tough getting your foot down in the boot all the way. At almost two weeks post op I got my cast wet and was only a few days from stitch removal so my surgeon put me in the boot for a couple days. Boy was that rough keeping my foot down inside of the heel. I went back in the cast after a few days Keep working on it and you will eventually get it down. Its really hard to keep it down when you're moving because those boots are made for walking...(oh boy that was lame sounding) haha! They're not made to hold your foot down on their own.
Take care!

Re: 13 more days woot woot

PT is great. Make sure you like and trust your therapist. I made more progress after one week of PT than I did in 3 weeks on my own. The ultrasound and massage that they will probably do really help a lot. And do your homework faithfully! The most important thing though, is to listen to your body. Pushing through the pain is one thing. Aggravating your injury is entirely another.
Kimberly...20 more days for you! I feel like we should give you a bachelorette party or something.

Re: 13 more days woot woot

Erin, I had a knot in my calf muscle that loosened up a whole lot after a couple of PT massages. I'll bet yours will do the same.

Ginger I didn't think of that. I'm hoping.

For real! Lol. It's been so long I feel like it'll never get here. I'm tired of waiting and apprehensive about starting all over again.

Re: 13 more days woot woot

This site is wacky today. I keep getting sent to digestive disorders!
Kimberly, you need to start a new thread soon as you get closer to your surgery. It seemed like it was so far off but now only a couple of weeks!

Re: 13 more days woot woot

I have never heard of a calf muscle being lengthened. I'm intrigued. Tell me more.
