what can i do in a cast? triple arthro

I had a triple arthro as well as a tendon transfer in the front of the fut/ankle. Is it OK to tighten the tendon in the cast to pretend to move the fut up and down? I ask because I accidentally tightened it and much of the pain I felt in the front is gone. Its been just a little over 2 wks after the surf.

Ask dr's office. I had ankle reconstruction, tendon transfer, ligament rpr. I did move the foot, as much as I could inside the cast, mostly to alleviate pain/pressure. Dr office said it wouldn't hurt anything, as I wouldn't be able to move too much in a cast. They told me not to stand, as I was NWB.

Thanks. I had pain there w pressure on the cast but the pain is better after tightening up by accident. I'm just worried about messing up the tendon transfer.

I was just allowed to wiggle my ties... But sometimes I would flex (hard!) in my cast at night... Especially after the swelling went down when I elevated... My doc didn't seem that concerned.

Call to be safe and be careful.

I didn't have what you had done but I would wiggle my toes and like snowrunner said I would tighten up at night. I also crack my toes all the time so when I was in the splint I sometimes would push my toes down, forgetting that I was in a splint and it wouldn't work. I don't think you hurt the tendon transfer..but you could always call and see what your foot doc says.
