How soon can I walk after bunion surgery?
I'm 21 years old and have just had my bunion removed on my left foot, (it's has been a week since my operation). The pain is manageable and I am only taking ibroprofen at night. I'm on crutches and my foot is wrapped in a bandage not a plaster cast. I'm unsure when I should be starting to put weight on that foot although I have tried and I don't feel ready as it's still sore. I'm resting a lot but when I am walking around on crutches I get so tired quickly. I am shocked because I feel exhausted by bed time and I have only been sat with my foot up all day. I would just like to hear other people's experiences on how long after their bunion surgery it was till they started baring weight and walking. I have a appointment back with the hospital in 2 weeks and I don't want to go there and still not be walking if that's what they're expecting. Thank you and I will be looking forward to others responses. :)

They should have told you when to walk on it. If they didn't, call and ask. Every surgeon is different and I would hate to say one thing when he expected another. Did they not give you written instructions????
