Hi All

Well its been a week and half since the surgery of my left foot, bunionectomy with a Titanium implant, of course the first few days were rough, but thats expected with any surgery and cutting of your foot, but its been well over a week and half now and honestly I can walk on the heel, and progress is going great. I am down to minimul pain killers now, and the surgery I feel so far was very successcful.
I will say that any of you that has a Dr tell you to go for fusion instead of Titanium joint replacement, I would go titanium the recovery is much quicker where in a fusion the recovery is way longer, I know because I had both of my feet done with fusions last year on the big toe and surrounding joints. The titanium is awesome and allows also more motion and mobility of your foot and toe area where a implant allows more flexability, I know someone on this board that is getting ready to go in and have his done soon, and I have been keeping him up on the progress. I still am bandaged up, can not get it wet, but after the first week, its amazing I can actually walk, there is no cast just bandaged up alot and they want you to start putting weight on it after one week, and it feels wonderful so far, time will tell when it all gets healed, and I still wabble around and must rest and not walk on it too much, but its just remarkable, so wanted to let all of you know the difference between fusing and implants. Its not like the olden days where you here of people that have issues with them, they are much safter now, along with I went in with a general anastetic and came out feeling pretty darn good, no nausea, nothing, but yes like I said the first week was not a ball park and some pain, but now its just amazing how I feel.
So anyway if any of you are thinking of fusing, ask about this implant, and most insurances will pay for it at least mine did for most of it.

This by the way was from degenerative artharitis of the bone joint in the toe, I will be doing this same surgery as soon as I can with the right foot and can bear full weight on the left one.
