pop a stitch

I have a question.....has anyone ever been told by their Doctor that they must have popped an inside stitch? My latest surgery was March 2nd to remove two screws from bunion surgery.I have developed a lump on my insision scar and he said it is probably from a popped stitch which causes a cyst under the scar.Is it a bad thing to have popped a stitch? This procedure was done by my "Crazy Doc".(LOL)

Why did you have to have the screws removed---I have two from bunion surgery also on March 2nd but I understand these screw are permanant???

My screws were suppose to be permanant also, but I developed a lump on the bottom of my foot and the Doctor thought that the screws were forcing their way down. He said that one screw was longer than the other. But anyway, I still have a bump on the bottom of my foot and he took more xrays and says it is my sesamoid bone. The bone is actually where it is suppose to be and it feels strange, sometimes hurts to walk on.I guess the bone was toward the center of my foot for so long before the bunion surgery, that now it is moved to where it should be and this is why I feel like I have a lump.
I hope you can make head or tails from what Iam trying to say.LOL It is hard to explain. This is another reason why Iam having a second opinion.
It just doesn't feel right to have such a lump on the bottom and a red mark where the lump is pressing on the ground.
Any other questions I will try to help

Sue

Hi Sue
I always have tons of questions since I have had this bunion/hammertoe surgery. Just today I am work in my air boot that I just got yesterday and was walking in the hallways and had pain under my arch where I imagine the bunion work was done. So, I have my crutches w/me at work (even though I thought I was through w/them) but I guess I will use them again today. It sounds like from this board that screws aren't always permanant. I too, have two screws. Are you back at work? Are you on/off crutches?

Hello,
Yes, I am back to work. My original surgery was in November of last year and the screws were removed March 2nd of this year. I went back to work after 8 weeks of the original surgery(right foot no driving) and was back to work the second time in two weeks. I was never on crutches but I did not have hammertoe surgery with the bunion surgery. The Doctor kept me out of work the first time for 8 weeks because of the work that I do.I work in a grocery store as an asst. dept. mgr. and I'm on my feet at work from 9-6. I do some stocking of shelves so I have a lot of bending, stretching and squating that I do. That is how I think my screws got messed up and I possibly popped a stitch.
If my Doctor ever gets his stories straight on my second foot I'm suppose to have the hammertoe and bunion surgery.
Question for you ....how was the hammertoe surgery?
I'm so glad that I found this site a while ago, because you always find someone that you have something in common with.Thank you,

Sue
