3 weeks post op----I am allowed to bear weight again
I am in a cast for another 2 weeks before a cam walker is considered; however, I am being allowed to do some weight bearing. This is up to 50% of my weight. Apparently the deep achy feeling that I have been having is normal.

I know you're happy with your progress. I'll be glad when I can get rid of the crutches. Today the dr decided to look at the stability of my right ankle just to make sure that it was stable because of my flexibility. So far so good and the left ankle is the only one with problems.

How can you detemine 50% of your weight or does the cast protect your foot in such a way that you don't put that much weight on your foot??

It's so protected by the cast, that I can't put much weight on it. The crutches also helps. I also tend to lean a little to the right side which will put more weight on the right foot.
Apparently the deep achy feeling that I have been having is normal.
