8 week(almost) post op checkup - Foot Problems Message Board

Just got back form the Dr office and he says things are looking real good. I have better range of motion than he figured I would get and the scar area is looking good. The swelling is not too bad considering I only get to put my foot up for about half an hour during the day at work.

I am walking in a shoe(most of the day I switch to the cam walker when my foot gets tired and sore). I am forcing my self to walk normal, no on the side or on the heel, I am walking real slow tho, but I don't want to get into a bad habit of walking wrong. The pain is not bad if I take it slow and when it gets sore I go to the cam walker to rest it.

I am rather pleased with the progress I am making. I was worried it ws going to be even slower. So good things are happening

Glad to hear things are going great! =D I wish I had better range of motion. I've improved a lot with 6 weeks of physical therapy, but I'm afraid I'm going to need more. I can't get my toe to bend down -- it only bends up, which luckly is all I need to walk normally.

Carlos, I really work hard at the range of motion thing. At least 10 to 12 times a day I just push in both direction until it really starts to hurt and and just hold it. When I first started 2 weeks ago it didn't move far in either direction up or down.

I am sure if you keep working with it, it will get better. Gotta hang in there

That's wonderful news. The days can seem like weeks, which in turn can seem like months, when you are in the midst of healing and all the turmoil it creates.
I'm glad things are going well. It's a good sign that things will keep going in that direction.
