Hey guys, it's been 4 and a half months since my original injury and on the 21st I finally started walking on both feet in normal shoes. I'm already starting to take it for granted. It is really nice. It is undescribable how sweet it is to be able to get up from the computer and just walk to the bathroom. Or to be able to carry things in both hands now that I don't have crutches. My doctor prescribed another 6 weeks, 6 hours a week of PT for me, and after that he'll prescribe another 6 weeks. If I'm on my feet alot it hurts really bad in the evening. And of course heel toe walking is almost impossible. My ankle doesn't hurt so bad when I walk now but it is still really stiff. My toes and the center of my foot hurt pretty bad when I walk, and every once in awhile my knee will start hurting. But after all this time if there is one thing I've learned it's that healing takes time, and my flexibility and muscles and bone density will all come back.

When I look at my feet side by side they look like two different creatures. One has five scars on it, the other none. One the toes all bend nicely, the other toes are just straight. Different spacing between the big toe and the other toes. The direction my toes point on one foot is different than the direction they point on the other. One foot has a nice perfect arch, the other has none. Not to mention when you feel one foot compared to the other they feel completely different. The biggest difference though probably is actually being able to see the metatarsals on one foot. At the end of the day when I take off my shoe and look at my foot I can see three of the metatarsals pushed up and the spaces inbetween. Abit unnerving at first but thats just the way it is.

Well, Good Luck to all of you. It just takes time and dedication. I'm well on the road to recovery and nearing the goal. And when I reach that goal I will just keep going. One day you'll all be there too.
