Is the cut at the "wrinkle" in the bottom of your toe? If so, I've had those before, even as an adult. About the only thing I can think of to help prevent them is religious moisturizing of the toes and wearing of socks and/or shoes that don't let you bend the toes so far upward when you walk. HTH.
