Hi all. I'm new to this board. I am 28 years old and I had a bunionectomy on my left foot yesterday. So far, so good. I only have mild pain in my metatarsal from time to time which my doctor said would be normal during the first days after surgery.
Before the surgery, I was very scared and did not know what to expect. I had done lots of research on bunion surgery and heard many testimonials. What I've drawn as conclusion is that each foot is different and healing time varies from patient to patient.
It helps to have a board to share the experience with people that have gone or are going through it. I have my first appointment on Friday and can't wait to see what the doctor tells me of how I'm doing.
One concern I do have is that I've been a very active person who loves exercising. My regimen consisted of yoga, pilates, aerobics, and strenght training. I would like to hear from any of you any advice on what kinds of exercise are permitted once you are allowed to be off the crutches and on your feet.
Thanks in advance for your help!!
