Well guys, the surgery is over & God is still GREAT!!!

(not that I doubted)..I had it done yesterday & yesterday was quite unremarkable..the full effect of the block lasted for about 7 hrs. & residually for about 12 hrs. The procedure took a bit longer than originally planned (an extra pin =3 total, removal of another bone =3 total & more work on the ligament in line with my big toe)....I was very impressed with the lack of pain post-op yesterday but when I got up this morning....OH MY!....LOL...I SOUNDED LIKE A WAILING CAT! I am very, very stiff & sore but I am sure that this will get increasingly better...THANK GOD FOR THE PAIN MEDS! I have gone ahead and started Motrin in hopes of getting a head start on keeping the swelling down.

Just an FYI passalong--I am scheduled to go back to work tomorrow. I do marketing, audits, and office work for a petroleum company which means I travel to different convenience stores that is owned by my company. I work forGREAT people who agreed to let me continue to work during my recovery. I WAS asked to work 1 of my stores 3rd shift for 2 weeks (they lost an employee)-sounded like a good ideato me as I thought it would be great w/ my foot situation plus I could get alot of my normal work done while still keeping the store going...

Well, my 1st night on 3rd shift, 4 hours before my surgery I was ROBBED AT GUNPOINT!!!!!!!...Again God is GREAT!

I wasn't hurt & when he fired the gun, it only shattered a window, I think it was more for effect on his part than anything

! Needless to say, I won't be working 3rd while I heal...LOL...I am going back to my regular hours tomorrow & Sunday!...
Thanks again & again for the prayers people, it means so much to know that there are people who still genuinely care about others!....Your advice & sharing of your own experiences made a tremendous difference for me going in to this....I will keep posting (not so lengthy from now on, I promise) & I will certainly continue to keep each of you in my prayers....
