| Stiff and raised toe
Hi All,
Aproximately 7 weeks ago, my doctor performed an osteotomy on my 2nd metatarsal. He basically shortened my 2nd metatarsal slightly, so the pressure when I walk would be evenly distributed across all my metatarsals. He put a small screw in the bone. Its been 7 weeks since surgery, my doctor has me wearing sneakers again and exercising again. The only thing I have noticed so far is that my 2nd toe is stiff. Also, when I stand, the toe up a little bit higher than the other toes. The problem is something I could live with, it is just a little annoying. The doctor told me that this problem is caused by the skin and tissue around the incision area is tight. He said that exercise will help loosen up that area over time. In fact he encouraged me to exercise, so I can break up the normal scar tissue in that area. Has anyone experienced the same surgery and had the same problem? I am following the doctors instruction and exercising every other day.
Thanks, patience25
