Jammed toe one year on... and weird lumpy toe
In January 2004 I jammed my second toe (next to my big toe) against the bath. I was in more pain than I have ever suffered (despite having been hit in the face by a golf club - this was worse) I had it x-ray'd and was told it was not broken. I could not even put my foot on the ground for a week! Now it still hurts a little still and I have limited movement in the second joint (the one nearest the foot). This is one year on and is causing me problems with sport. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with it and if there is anything tghat can be done about it?
Whilst on the subject of toes my third toe on the same foot (unrelated) has a hard round lump on the end of it to one side, it feels hard as bone and is under the skin, the skin is not hard or dead it is alive (it bled when I jammed the toe beside it), the nail has just grown around to accomodate it. My toe has been like this for a few years now, it does not normally affect me except when wearing fashion shoes and it doesn't look very nice in sandals. The nurse that treated me for my jammed toe said it was a corn and it would file off, I believe she is very wrong as that could be quite painful and pretty bloody messy as flesh and skin on top of it is still sensitive and alive. If anyone has any ideas what this could be please let me know?
Thanks for any help.
