Hi guys.

I'm new here. Seeing all the foot problem threads, mine might be minor. Pardon me, but I don't know where to ask.

Last June, I went outdoors with a few buddies when the rain suddenly poured down on us. My feet got soaked through the shoe. Since we were a long way from home, it took me hours before I finally got to take my shoes/socks off. My feet were like prunes, something that happens when you take too long bathing.

Ever since then, I've noticed that my shoes always seem to get wet on the inside more often. Even after the rainy season passed, once I took off my shoes in the evening from school, my feet are soaked, the inside of my shoes, wet.

It's been three months since then, and I've worn out a pair of my shoes because of this. I've tried creams, drinking tomato juice, but nothing helps. Any ideas on how my feet can go back to being normal, and not-too-sweaty? I can't buy a new pair of shoes because of this, I'm afraid I might ruin them too quickly. Any ideas would be helpful, thanks.

Bathe your feet in warm water with a few drops of tea-tree oil added. Tea-tree oil has antibacterial properties. Dry your feet thoroughly.
Alternatively, soak your feet daily in black tea, which contains tannic acid. Boil two tea bags in a pint of water for 15 minutes. Add this to 4 pints of cool water and soak your feet for 20-30 minutes.
Don't wear nylon socks, get the kind that wick moisture, a cotton or wool blend.
You can also apply a antiperspirant deodorant to your feet to help keep them dry.

Wow. Thanks for the reply. I was wondering though, just how many times will I have to dip my feet in warm water and tea-tree oil? How long will I have to bathe my feet? And exactly how many drops will be required?

Pardon the added questions, but I'm gonna try this method this week, and I'll report back how it turns out. Thank you!

I'd say about 3 drops of tea tree oil in enough water to almost reach the top of your foot. Try it daily for a week and see if it helps. Soak about 10-15 min.

Hi. I've been dipping my feet in warm water + drops of tea tree oil ever since I got your reply. I still get sweaty feet. Any ideas?

It's really uncomfortable, especially when I have to stay out for long. Do I still have to continue the tea tree oil treatment?
