WalkFit orthotics, anyone?? Do they work?

I just saw an infomercial about WalkFit orthotics - $19.99 plus shipping, and have adjustable arch supports and lifetime guarantee - sounds good to me! I think they'd be great for my husband too, as he works on hard cement all day. Anyone used these? They look very "springy", which is much different from my custom orthotics (hard leather with kind of a hard cork-ey bottom) They *look* like they'd be great. I'd love to know if anyone here uses them and how you like them. I guess they're available at some Target stores too - I'm going to call our local Targets and see if they have them (and avoid shipping charges!). They come in a variety of sizes - if anyone knows how "true-to-size" they are, I'd like to hear about that too - AND if they'd work for very wide feet (mine!)

Thanks for ANY input!

JD

Re: WalkFit orthotics, anyone?? Do they work?

JD,
I saw a pair that my mother had, that I was sending back for her. The ones that she had were hard plastic =they were by walkfit. So, not sure if the ones that you saw were a different style. She did not like them at all, but then as we well know from this list, everyone's feet are different.

Haha... I don't have any input on the orthotics, but I had to laugh. Isn't it interesting all the useless TV we watch when we're stuck on the couch! I saw that same infomercial 3 times last fall when I was recovering from mono. Hopefully you'll be feeling better and off the couch soon.

Re: WalkFit orthotics, anyone?? Do they work?

LOL, Kehorner! Yep - pathetic, ain't it?? Actually I turned the TV on to watch FOX news, but this was on when I turned it on, and it looked so good it sucked me right in - ended up watching the whole darn thing. (Then turned TV off to come on-line and check their website - never did get to FOX news!) I think we might get a pair for my husband, though, and he can try them out... since they have a money-back guarantee and all.... Not sure if I'll get any for myself, as I'm probably better off sticking with my custom-made orthotics (which have helped my feet SOOoo much), but I'll see how hubby likes his, then go from there.

About a month ago, my kids somehow landed on an infomercial for "The Magic Bullet" mini-blender kind of thing, and they pleaded non-stop for over a WEEK to get the dumb thing. I think they must put subliminal messages (besides all the repetitive, urgent orders) in some of these infomercials that hypnotize people to "Call NOW!"

Nancy - Sorry to hear your mom didn't like them... I imagine they take some getting used to, though, like any orthotics - I know when I got my custom ones, they felt great immediately, but within an hour or so, I had to take them out (and actually listen to my dr., who told me to start out wearing them for short periods of time and then build up, so feet can get used to them and adjust). I wonder if these would be the same way - so one would have to slowly build up the amount of time they wear them, till they could finally use them all day.

Anyone else ever used these?

Thank you!

JD
