Hello all, I had my one month post-op dr, visit today. I had a double chevron bunionectomy and a shaved tailors bunion. I have an extra incision below my second toe. I have been wearing those velcroe sandle type shoes from day one. I used the crutches for a week but found all I needed was a cane for balance. I am cleared to go back to work 4 hours aday..... I work with people who are in mid to late stage Alzheimer's Disease so I'm quite busy, on my feet. I find that the most peain I have during the day is where they shaved my tailors bunion. It burns and sometimes it feels like it is 'flopping' around although I still wear the gauze and ace bandages. My Dr. said I might be able to progress to regular shoes in a couple of weeks. He recommended a firm soled shoe so I'm thinking my dansko clogs should be alright. I'm so excited! When ever I change the bandages, I go and try on my boots and shoes to see how they fit. Since my feet no longer have those large lumps on the sides, my shoes are a little loose. But, I guess I can remedy that with fat socks. I want to say that I admire everyone who has this procedure done. I am amazed at all the diffeent type of surgery's there are for this procedure. And how different everyone's recovery is. This board has been an incredible help; my questions have been answered without my having to ask
