Kim,
I've been thinking about you, wondering how you are. I have no idea how I missed this post. Last one I saw, you were hobbling in garage, looking for your husband's shoes.
I am so sorry your healing is progressing so slowly.

(Admittedly a little jealous that you have such a caring and communicative surgeon.) I can't remember your age, but even if you're younger, I wonder if your diet has sufficient calcium/magnesium? LC's are good, but also lots of fresh greens, and skim dairy, or were you lactose intolerant? I force 3 dairy, skim milk or lofat cottage cheese, etc., and take 1500 mg calcium with magnesium & zinc in addition to my multi and B. Weather permitting, not too much recently in Branson, I sit on the deck for some sun, foot propped up on pillows, the heat feels good.
Did he mention any sort of bone stimulation therapy? I have no experience, but am really curious about this.
I don't know your situation, but look at aircast boots. If its tight, you might consider looking on **** for a used one. It would protect your foot, it's removeable, and you could save it for the next foot op. If you could find a cryo cuff, some are separate, some are made to fit IN the boot, the next foot might be much more comfy for you, provided your Doc is ok with it. The compression can be adjusted for swelling, and different levels of support for different levels of rehab. I think the comfort level brings compliance up, so more Docs are taking them more seriously. I'm going to try to get a used one, and hopefully convince him not to put any more fiberglass on me.
Post again soon, let us know how you are. I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. I'm praying for you. Hang on!

Kim
