I had very successful bunion surgeries on both feet from April to July of this year. I did one foot and waited three months for the other.
All is well in general. I still have a bit of pain and stiffness in the big toe.
Have to hold on to something to get off the floor a lot of times, cause the big toes just don't have the strengh to "push" me up like I want them to.
I can deal with this, the soreness, scar and tiny amont of discomfort, as I know with continued exercise this will eventually get better.
What I don't like is how big and puffy both my feet are. I was lucky to find some decent shoes at some end of summer sales, opened toed nice shoes for work. I cannot wear sneakers at my job. When at home, I wrap my feet with Coban self adhesive tape and that helps take down the swelling, as I watch TV or any other sitting task, i keep my feet elevated. But, they just don't seem to be getting any smaller. I cannot invest in all new shoes, the old feet wore size 9 and these new feet only feel good in a 10. The BIG question here is to those of you that have had the surgery...HOW LONG till my feet will be back to their normal size? 4 months? 6 months? 12 Months? If it is a long time, I may have to go ahead and invest in some closed toed
shoes as it is now cooler weather here in Kentucky and sandals are soon to be out of the question when dressing for work. I hate to spend the money on shoes I will never be able to wear after the feet return to normal.
****? Goodwill? I ordered a pair of very nice leather Rockport slides that I can't even get my feet into on **** and now cannot return but I guess I could re-list to sell to someone else. I thought Rockport might helpl
Has anyone invested in the new Cole Haan Nike shoes that have the air support? They are supposed to be fabulous but also cost $300.
Just thought I could start a discussion about footwear, as I have always been a shoe maniac! Own just tons and tons of beautiful shoes I currently cannot fit my feet into.....;-(
