| Foot Problems: Burning, Itching, Pain... Hello, everyone!
I have posted on a previous thread about plantar fasciitis because my podiatrist diagnosed me with it and [possibly] a heel spur, although at my most recent visit the male DPM thought that it's more PF than a heel spur. It's in my left foot.
My right foot, on the other hand, doesn't usually cause me problems, but I did incur mysterious pain around a couple of years ago. Well, I don't know if this is the same problem as the last time, but I'm trying to self diagnose here, which isn't always the smartest thing, but we're unemployed and w/out medical insurance at present, and I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.
Two days ago, after showering, I must've accidentally nicked my right foot (right on the heel) while shaving. I inevitably started scratching it because it itched. Okay.....That does make sense, but somewhere along the way my foot has started to actually hurt. It burns, aches, and it's occuring on the bottom of the foot where the plantar fascia would be located. I also experience tingling in the foot and also going up the right leg. I also have bouts of numbness in my feet/legs.
To add to the confusion, I started incurring dry skin around the entire area: on top of the foot, on the sides of the foot, on my upper leg, etc. I've been scratching my [entire] right foot! It's crazy! I tend to wonder if I have some sort of nerve damage, arthritis, etc., but I probably woudln't receive a thorough diagnosis w/out some sort of diagnostic test such as an MRI. The bottom of this foot itches, too! My left foot, thankfully, is not causing me too much trouble, except for the plantar fasciitis acting up on occasion.
Does anyone have a clue as to what my problem could be? I know: it's difficult to come up with a diagnosis without a consult to a podiatrist, but I'm on the verge of seeing one and paying them a little $ at a time since I'm an established patient.
Any advice, thoughts, etc. will be greatly appreciated!
