Underlapping fourth toe - Foot Problems Message Board

My fourth toe was pretty deformed - the top half was bent toward and almost completely under the third toe. I had surgery to straighten toes 2, 3, and 4, which my doctor said were claw toes. He put pins in them to keep them straight while healing. That was 2 weeks ago. I periodically check to make sure the pins are still there.......and I found that my fourth toe looks as if it is migrating back to it's original position already! Even with the pin in it, it is slightly behind and underneath the third toe. *sigh*

Has anyone had a similar experience? If so, how did your doctor fix it and has it stayed straight since the surgery?

My Gran had her little top straighted out because it was overlapping over the top of her next toe. The op went well but years later (and I mean years) her little toe overlapped underneath this time.

How is your foot/toe so far? Im thinking of having mine operated on because I have a similar problem. I'm curious but do you get circulation problems in your feet?

I just got my stitches and pins out two days ago. Without the pin, my fourth toe still underlaps the third slightly (I check out the toes from the bottom view of my foot in a mirror). I'm *hoping* that this is only due to the swelling. I would hate to have gone through this whole ordeal and still have one of the same problems *immediately* after my recovery!

Are you asking about circulation problems before or after my surgery? Before the surgery my circulation seemed fine. The fourth toe was numb after a lot of exercise, though.

Hi Hun.

That;s great. It could be from the swelling. But I'm not sure. Circulation before the operation. I was wondering if mine is foot related because I have a lot of problems with circulation in my feet and lower legs.

How is your foot doing now after the op?
