Saturday night I woke up about 2am to go the bathroom. I sat up on the bed, put my right foot on the floor, then my left. When I put my left foot down, for some reason it could not support me, like my leg just gave out. It was not asleep.
Anyway, as soon as I stepped on the left foot, my ankle buckled and I immediatley felt excruciating pain at my ankle. I could not even get up for about 5 minutes from the floor. I was uable to walk on my foot. That hurt worse than labor did. I have sprained my ankle before and had never felt pain like that!
Swelling was bad, but no bruising. I've had the foot elevated and iced all weekend. Dr at Er said xrays were normal. I'm still a lot of pain. I'm thinking it is a quite severe sprain, maybe grade III, defineltely II.
Is there anything else I could be doing to help it? I could not go to work today, my job requires constant walking. Too hard on crutches.
