When I was around 4 months along with my youngest child my feet and ankles started to swell badly. I just thought that after I had him it would all go away. That wasn't the case. He's almost 8 months old now and my feet and ankles still swell everyday. I went to the doctor about this and he tested my heart, for diabetes and a number of other things. All this came back negative. The doctor has no idea why they keep swelling. He prescribed me a water pill, but it doesn't help. I elevate them every night and it doesn't help much either. It can get to the point where it feels like they are going to pop they are so big. Anyone have any ideas on what I should or could try?
Swollen feet as you describe them is really not normal for a person that is young enough to have just had a baby.
It sounds like the Md looked into the things that should be checked.
Look, you must be in charge of your health and you need an answer for this problem.
Ask him if there is some specialist that he would recommend that you could see since you have not had a resolution of the problem.
Are you very obese? This is just a ? for you to consider.
The only thing that I can think of is a vascular/vein specialist...........
Check it out this is not normal and should have passed by now (post the birth of your baby).

This has nothing to do with me being pregnant,but about 18 years ago I had severe swelling in my feet and I went to the Dr.(also has some joint pain though)I was diagnosed with kidney problems and lupus.you may not have lupus but they say when your feet swell, alot of times its kidney related.Good luck,

Thanks for the reply I will check into that..I never thought of it. I think he did check my kidneys too and nothing came back on that. Who knows...I will try a specialist because this shouldn't be happening and I'm so sick of it!

I am going to chck into the specialist because I'm really tired of this it's so frustrating and uncomfortable. I'm am overweight but not obese, but that may have something to do with it. I'm trying to take care of that problem too by joining weightwatchers. I'll post again if I find out anything!
