Extremely Dry Heels - Foot Problems Message Board

Any idea what I can use to make them look and feel better? They don't cause any kind of pain, but it's quite embarrassing for me to wear sandals, high heels, or any kind of shoe with no back.

Try soaking them in warm water for about 7 minutes and buy yourself a pumice stone. After the skin has softened, use the stone on the dry parts of your heal and remove the the dead skin till smooth. Pat dry and apply some lotion on the heal. This should make your heal look and feel better. Do this at least weekly.
A note... wearing shoes that do not support your heal, like slippers and sandles all the time will cause this. Your heal needs to be supported or it kind of acts like a tomato if you just put pressure on, it will crack. Taking good care of your feet is a must.

I recently bought this cream called Heel Rescue. It seems to be working, and I only have to put it on at night. I've never tried the pumice stone idea before, but I will. I don't wear slippers and sandals much. I'm not sure what the dry heels are from or how long I've had them for, but thanks for the reply.

You can never use too much lotion on the heels. Slather it on and put on old cotton socks for bed, let it mulch away overnight LOL. Yes, and keep up with the pumice too, but gently, you can make it hurt if you are too keen with it. Sera

This may sound crazy, but it works. Try using hair creme rinse. After a shower, rub the rinse on and let dry. I also have used a sock at night after using a good lotion.
