| Re: 4 weeks after cast removed, ankle still swollen?
Hi,
I have a torn ligament and a chipped bone from the end of the fibula. The doc tried a conservative approach first...cast for two weeks followed by boot for 4 weeks. This conservative approach did not work and I probably need surgery. My foot was not swollen before he put me in the cast/boot However, it's been 4 or 5 weeks since I've been out of a cast/boot and my foot and ankle are swollen whereas they were not before!! I, too, wonder why this is so....and I haven't even had the surgery yet!!!!!!
