Well my husband just had his emg for his pain in the feet. The doc that did the test says he has some nerve damage. He says the test should read 3 for each muscle but he tested at 2. He said the podiatrist will look at those numbers as the reason for the large bone spur he has on his big toe as well as it being tarsal tunnel. Anyone else remember what their score was on their emg test for tarsal tunnel ??? And I wonder how nerve damage can cause bone spurs ???? I was really suprised when he said no more emg tests for him he said the nerve shock did not hurt but the needles being inserted sure did , I just wonder if it was cause of the doc being too rough. He had the same test for carpal tunnel years ago and didn't even feel the needles go in , maybe its easier in the hands??
I was just the opposite, with my feet I hardly felt the needle, but when my hands, arms neck and back were done it was very uncomfortable even with a vicoden in my system. Everyone is different I guessl
