Jessica - I read an on-line article that said your toenails grow about 1/2 as fast as your fingernails. A fingernail will completely grow out in about 6-12 months while a big toenail will take 12-18 months. Fingernails grow 1mm every 10 days so a toenail averages 1/2mm in 10 days. I had to look this up awhile back because I injured my big toenail like David on April Fools Day (no joke)! Mine is about 1/2 grown in at this point.
About all you can really do is bandage the toe and grin and bear it until a grows out some.
