Hi. I am dealing with the worst foot pain I've ever had in my life! It is almost unbearable. I went to the doctor at the last minute today, no appt. or anything.

I had worked 8 hours and was hobbling around all day. My left foot was killing me. Dr. squeezed me in. He had me get xrays to check for a stress fracture. Told me to take 3 ibuprofen every four-six hours for pain. Said I need to wear really, really good shoes since I am on my feet a lot of the day at work.

He said if I still have the pain in a week or so he will send me to an orthoped. dr.

Question: Does anyone have an idea what this could be?

note: I did have a slight bought of plantar facitis 6 months ago. I got heel lifts from dr. Wore them a week or so and the pain completely went away. I don't know what this new pain is. It is excruciating!!! Any ideas, anyone??

It could be anything... go to the OS, if they recommend something drastic or say it is nothing, go to ankle specialist.

If you had plantar fascitis better check your shoe size. My feet went from size 12 to size 15. This would especially be the case if you have gained weight or hike with a heavy pack.

Thanks happyfoot7 and Cormack. I appreciate your help. I think I will look into the OS. I can't believe I didn't hear from the dr. today. I am assuming that means no break in my foot (which is good).

It felt a little better today. I am definitely going to have it checked out though. Thanks again.
