had bunionectomy on both feet in 93,, with no pain meds afterwords,, i was in pain for several weeks, lots of swelling and throbbing yet my dr put a freezing agent inside the wound before he sewed me up, so i got off lucky, by the time the 'real' pain set in, i was pretty much healed. a year or so after the surgery, i incurred the same 'ball' pain under my big toe on one foot,,, i was informed this was due to inappropriate shoes, and or standing on my feet for a long period, or from dancing in which i had been doing some. its been almost 10 yrs and finally there just now starting to grow back, and im experience more pain in both feet now. i hd a wonderful dr, yet i do recall signing a contract of knowledge that this is not a permanent rememdy for bunions,, they will grow back eventually, usually 10-13 yrs after inital surgery. my mother had one foot done in 99 and totally regrets it,, her foot is so deformed and she can barely move her toes,, she didnt take my advice and use my podiatrist :-(. My scars are not that visible althought it did take a while (over a year) for them to get to the most unnoticeable . I used sunscreen on my scars if i went out in the sun,, which i fanatic about :-P ok all, ive gabbed enought, hope to have helped
