hi matt78861,
it sounds almost bunionettes - similar to bunions, but occuring on the fifth metatarsals (pinky toes). does it hurt? if it's painful, or uncomfortable, i'd suggest getting an opinion from a podiatrist. wearing orthotics may help. in my case, my bunions were hereditary - and since i've had then forever (age 26 now) i could only fix the pain with surgery. my left foot was done on 02/27/03. i will have my right foot done in 1 1/2 to 2 months. you can read more about bunions on the other bunion-related posts. my friend's mon had surgery for her bunionettes - it was a very minor surgery compared to most bunionectomies. she was out of work for only 1 week. i was lucky - with my bunionectomy, i was out of work 2 days plus my usual 2 day weekend - so i went back to work post-op day 4. hope that helps.
