Hello! I had a bunion removed on 5/20 and the doctor found a nerve tumor (morton's neuroma) while doing the surgery. Mine was between the first and second toe - usually they are found between third and fourth. Anyway, it did not show up on the xray the doctor took prior to us determining to do the surgery. Not sure if an MRI would show it. The complication of a nerve tumor has slowed my healing process due to the extra swelling and pooling of blood in the area where the tumor was removed. Go to physical therapy for all that and a heel spur! I'm just loving summer - NOT! I was out of work for 7 weeks! I wish I could say it was a pleasure, but not being able to do much isn't fun.
To answer your second question, I believe my tumor was a result of improper squeezing of my toes while walking in flat shoes really fast (going to the Mall during my lunch hours

) I thought I was doing good wearing flat shoes but I should of had arch support.
