I hope everyone is doing well! You were all so helpful prior to my surgery that I am hoping you can give me some insight now that I am post surgery so I can gauge if my progress to date is normal, less than normal ... or being optimistic .. better than normal

I am now 12 weeks post OCD drilling and debridement. Was 6 weeks NWB and moved to PWB for 2 weeks and have been FWB for 4. I was in a boot for 5 months prior to my surgery (long story) and apparently during that time in the boot developed some walking habits that are appearing a bit hard to overcome.

It seems the foot that was in the boot wants to go left! It points to 10 o'clock and yes, I walk like quasi moto. My physical therapist said it is because that is the way I walked with the boot for so long, but it honestly now feels that when I try to straighten it, it feels awkward. I can straighten it better though, with the help of using one crutch, but without the crutch, it is very hard to straighten. As of now, my ROM is still limited, in fact I can get to +2 degrees (from minus 15 right after surgery) so I am making progress with ROM, but wondering if my straightening issue will get better as my ROM increases.

Right now at PT we do a lot of stretching and I can get on the recumbent bike for about 1 mile before I start to feel it. Afterwards, it is a deep aching feeling but nothing like the pain I had before. Should I be doing more by this point? My PT says he is happy with my progress thus far, but I see he tries to get me motivated when I get discouraged so not sure how honest he is being.

Also, was anyone at 12 weeks able to get into a shoe? I tried to jam my foot into a wide width sneaker I bought and it just won't fit ... I am still wearing the velcro closure surgical show. My OS said it could be swollen for up to 6 months?

The stiffness when just getting out of bed in the morning is bad for the first few steps and so it after sitting at my desk for awhile, but I know this is normal ... just not sure how I am doing otherwise.
