I've never heard of the Cotton procedure, but from what you say, that sounds reasonable. Can you explain it more? I agree, though.... conservative treatments first.
I have a lifelong history of flat feet and am now 50 years old, with a history of being very active on these bad feet. I finally had my PTT snap a couple of years ago and had to have the surgery to correct that, and a whole lot else. One of the things the doc did was insert two screws in the area I think Mary's talking about to stabilize that joint. It looks good so far.... like it's created an arch. I'm 11 weeks post-op and now bearing weight, so we'll soon see how it worked out.
