i was wondering if anyone out there has had this and how did they recover and how long did it take you.

i am new to this web site and wished i would have known about it sooner
i am recovering from this surgery that i had 3 weeks ago---it is my right foot and i will probably have to do the other foot once i heal.....i am getting frustrated with all the other aches and pains that com with this---due to crutches----------who ever invited them should just be smacked--hahah
im not 13 no more with a little sprain ankle.....more like 35 and 100lbs heavier
anyway they just stink
unfortantly i have become constipated due to lack of moving around and the meds i'm on ...........plus all of my weight gets put on my left foot to protect the other foot .....now it is hurting to

Any suggestions or know if this is a good surgery??????????

I'm getting ready to have surgery for both plantar fasciitis and nerve entrapment. The doctor said I'll have to be off my foot three months - and he suggested a knee walker - it's a contraption you put your knee on, has wheels, and you push it to move around. I watched videos online and it looked pretty interesting. It's expensive - but maybe insurance will cover it? I have to walk great distances at work - and your story makes me fear I'll be out of work longer than I had hoped. Mine is going to be regular surgery, not endoscopic...

I had the topaz procedure (look it up online). Its minimally invasive, done through tiny holes without the need for stitches, or a small incision less than 1". I had it in August and am doing great. Im 21, always had flat feet, but tore my PF playing college soccer. After struggling with this for 2 years, I'm so happy where Im at right now. Im really doing great. Im back to full workouts and can be on my feet all day and not feel a thing. Let me know if u have any questions.

I feel for you, I really do, I was casted on my left foot for pf, and just about lost it, it also didnt work, now I have it in both feet and am having a hard time. I will give you a little advice try Citracil for your problem not moving around, it comes in tablet form, and is easy to take. You can get it at the any drugstore. I too am from Il. How long are you going to be on crutches, also did your try eswt, or the new topaz treatment. I am very reluctant to do surgery, but I knwo this pf is so depressing for me. I use to be so active, I was more active at 48 than I was at 20 yr. Also try a rolling chair, thats how I cooked with a cast. I hope your surgery is successful, I might be asking for you doctor: I heard your type of surgery is easier to recovery than the traditional surgery with less complications. let me know how your doing jaimi

hi Jamie,
I am 35 and i have had this for 6yrs and kept putting it off because i kept thinking " oh I CAN'T be OFF work that LONG" ---i'm sure as alot of others think too.......so it kept getting worse...the 1st Dr. would just give me cortizone shots all the time---which I HATED and didn't work ---finally i said I CAN"T DO IT NO MORE because those shots hurt so bad.....then i finally tried someone else a place in St. Louis a foot center that does the electric shock waves they did both my feet at the same time and that was pure heXXX----that didn't work at all---that was last year in April----i am suppost to do my left foot too----and i am hoping that i might be able to by pass it because my right foot was so bad that my left was hurting from babying the right foot all this time.....i just wonder how may more weeks i will be down and out.

i would like to do maybe the topaz surgery on my left foot.
the surgery part isn't bad ---it is all the other aches and pains that go with it..if i told them all i would sound like a cry baby---but seriously it does put a major crqamp yin our busy lifestyles----it goes to show you how we take things for grated.
