| you will never believe it...more surgery
DebbieG, lightfoot, janewhite you may all believe this but all the newbies will probably say, no way she could have that kind of luck. I went back to the surgeon for a check up two weeks ago. At that time he had removed me from the surgical shoe and i HAD Been wearing an air cast for several weeks. Remember the first surgery was 3/21 and the second surgery to remove the pins and put the screw in was 4/20 or close to that date. Well, my first couple visits later he said at first it looked good. Second visit, he said the screw was moving around in the toe and no fusion had taken place. At my 6 week checkup, he said there was no fusion. I did not have to wear the air cast anymore. Just wear hard bottom shoes that would not give so I chose Birkenstocks which I have been in love with for multiple years. Last weekend my foot swelled twice its size. I didn't even bother to call. Just elevated it.Well my appt. for the re-evation is july 16 and that is when he is going to discuss what needs to be done, surgery again of course, and plan on a date. I was so put out when I went in June. It was one of those 102 degree days we were having here in NC and I was sweating so bad with that air cast and I told him I could not even perceive talking about further surgery. I told him summer time was my time for the grandchildren with the lake and etc. and I didn't care if my foot rotted off I would not do anything until the end of August or first of /September. He didn't get upset or anything and told me it would be ok if I could tolerate the pain. Well, sometimes it is so bad but I just take ibuprophen and keep on going. When will this ever end? I had been on the sofa for 12 weeks per his instructions and thought if i did not have a change of life I would lose it. Please tell me A am not the only one that has felt this way.
