My spring ligament is one of the ones that was partially torn - it is in the arch of my foot, so I knew that was the same pain. I did call the doc's office today and they said having more of the toes exposed is actually better as you get some "wiggling" movement but the cast prevents side-to-side motion. The spring ligament is painful because of the movement and the healing. They repared my spring ligament with suture and wire, I think, so I was just afraid I was moving it too early or something and could cause damage. They told me things were OK, so I guess they are!
