| 14 weeks PO and...
I had surgery on for bilateral bunionnettes on June 9 and it's not over yet.
Left foot - Exostectomy
3 or 4 weeks in post op shoe then tennis shoes. Some tenderness issues up to about 11 weeks, but doing great now, thank goodness.
Right foot - Chevron osteotomy
6 weeks NWB, 6 weeks walking in post of shoe, 1 week walking in tennis shoes and then.... OUCH! Over the course of the next week pain got more and more in a totally new spot until I got so swollen I could no longer get my tennis shoe on. Went back to the doctor and he is certain I've got a stress fracture in my midfoot. So now I'm sentenced to a boot for another 3 weeks minimum.
I must say, it's nice to be able to walk, not pain free, but not cringe with every step. I am a much happier person now that I don't hurt so much, but when will this all end? Doc wants an MRI just to rule out ligament injury or anything else. Trying to stay positive, but it isn't always easy.
