Questions about Dr. Schon - Foot Problems Message Board

Hi,

I have been researching foot Dr's for my second opinion. And Dr. Schon is covered under my insurance and he seems to be highly qualified. Or more so than my podiatrist. I know you recommended him. But did you like him? His work? Anymore input would greatly be appreciated.

Hello, I am also looking at going to see Dr. Schon in Baltimore. I have not seen him yet but all I can recommend is calling to schedule your appointment now. I called last week and the earliest appointment he had was the end of April. I was shocked, so maybe he is that good. Best of luck to you, let me know what you think of him also.

WOW,

I don't know if I want to wait that long for a second opinion. I wondered if there would be a long wait to see him. I am still waiting on a new referral so I can go out.

Hi all,
I am a patient of Dr. Schon's. The first time it took me three months to get in to see him, but it was worth the wait, my regular orthopedic surgeon sent me to him and said that if he had something wrong that is who he would go too. He is usually very busy, so plan to spend some time waiting. He is very though, usually a PA will get your history, determine if you need to get Xrays before he sees you, etc. I have had two surgeries with him and am know (unfortunately) seeing him for an unrelated issue. I think once you are a patient it is easier to get an appt. Good Luck

hey Shannon,
In the same office is Dr. Guyton. Even though he has not been practicing as long he is one of the best as well. I wend to him because I wanted a second opinion and I knew right away I trusted him more than my other doctor. He may have a bit of a wait for an appointment but maybe not quite as long and if you explain that it's somewhat of a rush thing they might be able to fit you in sooner. One thing that bothers me, and I'm pretty sure you would get this with either of them...is that they have residents who come in first and ask you all these questions but usually don't know what they are doing so you end up repeating it all again to him, but it's worth it.
