| Fractured ankle thru Subtalar Fusion
In 2002 I had a fractured left ankle which was managed non-operatively in a plaster cast. Shortly after the initial plaster cast was replaced, I was asked if the ankle had been manipulated. I did not know and said so. Further casts were replaced before I was pronounced ok.
Two years ago I had a bad fall which caused further problems with my left ankle and, to cut a long story short, I am now waiting for a "subtalar fusion" operation.
I have two questions on which I would be grateful for help:
1. Could the 2002 fracture being 'manipulated' or 'not manipulated' have any bearing on the excessive wear/tear on my subtalar?
2. I have had two previous C.A.B.G's. - will this be a bar to having the 'subtalar fusion' operation. I have to see an anaesthetist about it, in a few weeks, and it is worrying me.
